Every child in our nursery is an individual, and their care reflects this. Our staff are encouraged to form close relationships with the children in their care to ensure that all their needs are met, whether they be cultural, religious, development, dietary or medical.
From the first day at Conkers, your child will immediately feel at home. A number of trial sessions can be arranged in your child’s settling in period, parents/guardians and siblings are welcome to ensure your child feels confident in potentially daunting new surroundings.
0 – 3 Years We use the Birth to Three Matters framework and your child will have his/her own Key worker, who is responsible for liasing with you on all the aspects of your child’s development. This includes anything from the six areas of the Early Learning Goals, to the new word they said today. Each morning a familiar member of staff will greet your child and give him/her breakfast and throughout the day they will spend quality time with them in addition to also sitting and eating lunch with your child. During the day your child will do different activities with other members of staff in order to instil confidence and social skills.
Pre-School From the ages of 3-5 all children follow the National Curriculum grouped with continuous provision and play themes. This prepares them for the work on the National Curriculum at Key Stage 1 at Primary School, and creates a secure foundation for later learning, both in school and beyond |
