Conkers Day Nursery
Children

Every child in our nursery is an individual, and their care reflects this.  Our staff are encouraged to form close relationships with the children in their care to ensure that all their needs are met, whether they be cultural, religious, development, dietary or medical.

From the first day at Conkers, your child will immediately feel at home.  A number of trial sessions can be arranged in your child’s settling in period, parents/guardians and siblings are welcome to ensure your child feels confident in potentially daunting new surroundings.

Birth to Five Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Every child deserves the best possible start in life and support to fulfil their potential.  A child's experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances.  A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.

The EYFS encourages and allows children to develop and grow as individuals rather than as a group.

The EYFS is split up into 4 themes:

  • A UNIQUE CHILD
  • POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS
  • ENABLING ENVIRONMENTS
  • LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
At Conkers Day Nursery each key person follows the EYFS guidelines to help them to allow each child to achieve the best of their individual ability.
