Conkers Day Nursery
Activities

Imaginatively planned activities

Activities are arranged according to the stage and area of the nursery each child is in, but all children, from toddlers to pre-school, have access to a wide range of learning experiences.  There will be opportunities for your child to take part in music and movement, creative play and basic computer literacy sessions.  All children play and learn in accordance with the EYFS.  Our nursery is inspected by OFSTED and individual reports can be accessed via the Internet.

From a very early age, children are stimulated and challenged with activities teaching them to discover more about themselves, the world and each other.  Learning is generally organised around relevant themes, for example seasons, the seaside or cultural festivals, raising awareness of the world at large and how it operates.  Activity sheets are dispayed in the nursery so parent/guardians can keep up with activities, stories, songs, trips and themes of the nursery over the last week.

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons from a fully qualified swimming teacher are available from the age of 3 upwards.  The children are escorted by staff to and from the pool, and a member of staff is always present at the pool to supervise on dryside.  For further details, please speak to the Nursery Manager.

French Lessons

French lessons are available from a fully qualified teacher. Further details regarding these lessons can be obtained from the Nursery Manager.
